We are all guilty of making a cheeky Christmas sannie or six from all the big days’ leftovers. But what would you put in your ultimate festive triple decker?
Cancer Support Scotland are calling on their troops to hold a winter Soup and Sandwich (SAS) Fundraiser to raise funds for the new Calman Cancer Support Centre.
So if you like the sound of a Christmas sandwich feast why not invite round a few family members, friends or neighbours for a bite to eat in the name of charity. Cancer Support Scotland will provide you with a free fundraising pack and ideas for how to host your event, all you have to do is call 0141 211 0122 or email [email protected].
The charity believe they have come up with the perfect festive sandwich after conducting some Twitter research into people’s favourite Christmas sannie. Their club sandwich packed with Turkey, bacon and chipolata’s topped with pine nuts, brie and cranberry sauce will hopefully tickle your fancy.
Of course they haven’t forgotten about the vegetarians out there. You guys can tuck into a delicious feast of nut stuffing, stilton, and caramelised onion chutney with a fresh salad encased in wholemeal bread.
For those frosty winter days Cancer Support Scotland can also recommend a tasty bacon and roast chestnut soup to keep everyone cosy over the festive season.
Colin Graham, Chief Executive of Cancer Support Scotland said “This fundraiser is designed to give the people of Scotland an enjoyable way to raise funds for an extremely worthwhile cause this winter”.
By hosting the sponsored events the organisation aims to raise funds for the new Calman Cancer Support Centre which will provide even more services and therapies for all those affected by cancer.
The new centre will allow the charity to respond to the ever increasing demand for the services they provide to those affected by cancer. It will house a number of comfortable therapy rooms, a “take care café”, as well as a library and information point, where visitors can access a huge bank of resources.
Laura Walker, Cancer Support Scotland’s PR Intern said “Christmas is a time for giving and a time for family. That’s why this campaign is perfect; you can raise money for a great cause while enjoying some tasty scran with family and friends”.
