Christmas Carols

Thursday, 15 December 2011

Cancer Support Scotland and the boys at Stewart & Shields donned their Santa hats at the new Calman Cancer Support Centre, due to open in the summer of 2012, for a Christmas Carol in the snow to raise awareness for the “Take Care” Appeal.

Cancer Support Scotland in partnership with the Glasgow Building Preservation Trust is transforming the Gartnavel Hospital Chapel, a grade B listed building into a flagship therapy facility, the Calman Cancer Support Centre.

The “Take Care” Appeal has been established to help the charity raise the £420,000 it needs to transform the derelict building into a welcoming and peaceful new home for anyone affected by cancer.

The additional space provided by the new centre will allow the charity to respond to the ever increasing demand for the services they provide to anyone affected by cancer.

Colin Graham said, “It was nice to bring some festive cheer in the snow.  This is thought to be the first time in 11 years Christmas Carol’s have been sung in this building.  Thanks must go to the builders of Stewart & Shields for getting into the festive sprit”.
