Website Launch

Tuesday, 24 January 2012

Cancer Support Scotland has launched a brand new, easy to navigate website to mark the beginning of a momentous year for the charity.

The organisation will become a significant player in the cancer charity sector this year as it moves into the new flagship Calman Cancer Support Centre on the grounds of Gartnavel Hospital and adjacent to the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.

The charity provides one-to-one talking therapy, complementary therapies and support groups for people affected by cancer – from those living with the disease to their friends and family as well.

The new look website was designed to raise awareness of Cancer Support Scotland’s activities, providing in-depth information on the services it provides while keeping its supporters right up to date with all the latest news and fundraising activities.

Cancer Support Scotland CEO Colin Graham said: “We recognise the significance of having a strong online presence as we move into the future, and as a result have invested a lot of time and effort into developing our new website and social media channels.

“The new look website will also provide an invaluable tool in helping us to raise the £420,000 total required for our move to the new Calman Cancer Support Centre, and in raising awareness of our services to all of those people affected by cancer in Scotland.”

Ian Brooks, Managing Director of web design firm Concept Consulting, said: “It has been a real pleasure working with the team at Cancer Support Scotland.

“We worked very closely together in ensuring that the website functions as simply and clearly as possible, providing a great new resource for service users and supporters of the charity.

“We wish them all the best in their move to the new Calman Cancer Support Centre and with their ongoing goal of supporting those affected by cancer.”
