SUPERMAN AND WONDERWOMAN SPOTTED FLYING ACROSS THE CLYDE
Superman and Wonder Woman flew across the River Clyde in Glasgow on Sunday along with 34 other charity fundraisers.
The volunteer daredevils crossed the river at 40mph on a zipwire suspended 150ft in the air from a crane.
Among those who made the 17-second journey were George and Myra Love, from Bute, who dressed as the Man of Steel and Princess Diana of Themyscira.
The couple, who also took part in the Cancer Support Scotland event last year, said they hoped to exceed their previous fundraising total of more than £3000.
Ten staff from Glasgow company Letsure, which has selected the cancer group as its charity of the year, also took part.
Liza Thomson, a member of the firm's staff charity committee, said: "We decided to volunteer for the zipwire as it sounded a lot of fun though as the date approached fear was definitely setting in.”
They hope to raise more than £1000 from the event and Liza added: "The generosity and support from work colleagues, family and friends has been amazing and we appreciate every penny that has been donated to us.
“Cancer Support Scotland has been a great partner and has helped support our fundraising efforts and we aim to raise as much money as we can for such a worthwhile cause.”
Cancer Support Scotland chief executive Colin Graham said: "It’s an amazing experience and we’re grateful to everyone who took part and the people who are sponsoring them."
