Nurseries

Join our annual ‘Easter Trail’ or organise your own hunt

Primary schools

Community groups

Are you a member of a group within your local community? Whatever the focus of your group there are lots of ways you and fellow members can support Cancer Support Scotland;

Arrange a talk from one of our team
Have a Cancer Support Scotland stall at one of your events like a Town Fayre
Host a fundraising event like a Street Party or Summer BBQ
Organise a supermarket local bag pack or bucket shake, raising funds and offering the chance to tell about Cancer Support Scotland.

Coffee & cake

Enjoy cake? Enjoy coffee or tea? Great! You’re fully qualified to gather your friends or rally your colleagues for an hour or two of hot drinks, sweet treats and probably plenty juicy gossip on the side.

Just £10 raised could cover the cost of our biscuits for a whole week. It might not seem like much, but the comfort of a biscuit with a cuppa and a chat can make a real difference to someone visiting our centres.

We have a fundraising pack ready and waiting, so get in touch to find out how to make a massive impact just by having cake and coffee. Best of all, it’s for charity, so the calories don’t count!

Colleges & universities

Whether you are a member of faculty, the student union, a sports club, or a society, you and your University could make a huge difference to the lives of those affected by cancer. Particularly for students, supporting a charity is a great way to meet new people and is something that future employers value in job applicants. We would be happy to chat over how you can get involved, but here are a couple of ways to get your imagination running:

Film & Media Society moviethon e.g. all the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, or Star Wars films.
Inter-sport Challenge e.g. Hockey Team vs Netball Team at each other’s sport.

Your event your way

We love when supporters host their own events, they come up with some of the best and most fun ideas! When you’re setting up your own event, there are a few things worth thinking about. How do I start? How do I promote my event? Do I need a license?

Don’t worry, help is at hand. We’ll tell you everything you need to know and support you along the way.

And, if you’re after fundraising materials – like buckets, banners and posters – then we’ve got that covered too. Just get in touch and let’s make this happen!

Wellbeing warriors

Our wellbeing warriors are individuals coming together as a group to bring Cancer Support Scotland to the heart of their community through sharing their stories, raising awareness of Cancer Support Scotland and organising their own fundraising events. A group can be any size from two people to twenty people, you choose what works for you, how you’d like to get involved and what fundraising appeals most. If you or someone close to you has had a cancer experience, we want to get your voice heard. Sharing your story with us or with the media, are powerful ways to help change the future of wellbeing provision for those affected by cancer.

Personal experiences help us engage the Scottish public and bring our stories to life. By raising awareness of what we do in the press we can reach more people.

Cancer Support Scotland Supporter Group

Use your cancer experience to help us co-create information, sign posting and self-help guides for wellbeing. You could become a Community Champion and talk to schools or community groups about your cancer experience.

Outdoor events

Run, walk, cycle, or swim? However you choose to rack them up, your miles matter and our team is here to support you every step of the way. From cycling across India, trekking the Sahara, or running the Great Scottish Run, the opportunities are endless. With countless events throughout the year, you can either apply for one of our charity places or buy your own spot at an event that inspires you. It’s a great way to challenge yourself while helping us raise funds to support those facing an even bigger challenge.
