Talking Therapy

Counselling offers a safe and confidential environment to talk about the issues that have led you to seek help. The Talking Therapist’s job is to listen, empathise and help you make your own decisions.

It can be beneficial to speak to someone who is not a family member or close friend, as you can go into greater detail about your issues without the fear of causing upset to your loved ones. Some people find one session is enough, whereas others may need more sessions.

Talking Therapy

All our counsellors are members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, COSCA or ITA. They are experienced in working with people affected by cancer and understand the challenges they face.

Our Talking Therapy service is offered five days a week at our main centre on the Gartnavel Hospital Campus, at Dennistoun Library on Mondays and at the Mitchell Library on Fridays.

To enquire about services at any of these locations call us on 0141 337 8199, freephone 0800 652 4531 or email [email protected] and we will be happy to help you.

"Being diagnosed with cancer is a devastating and frightening experience. Speaking to a Cancer Support Scotland Talking Therapist has allowed me to share my fears and come to terms with this disease."
