Cancer Support Scotland takes your right to privacy very seriously. For that reason we have set out this privacy policy so you can make sure you understand how and why we use the information you give us.

Sensitive information

Any personal information you provide Cancer Support Scotland will be kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Collection of information

Cancer Support Scotland is the sole owner of the information submitted by you anywhere on this site. We may use information gathered in compiling anonymous statistics and research in the course of the organisation's stated role. However, we will never sell, share or rent personally identifiable information that you have submitted to this site to third parties.

Details Captured

You may be asked to provide us with the following information: your name, email address & telephone number. You may choose to provide Cancer Support Scotland with additional information about yourself such as your postal address. We may request further information from you later on, for example to assist us in research, but in these cases we will always email you beforehand explaining our reasons in detail.

Fulfilment

We ask people using our on-line forms to provide contact information. This is used only to fulfil orders as stated on the on-line order forms and to enable us to contact you if we have difficulty processing your order.

Donations & Credit Cards

Any information and credit card details you send to us using our donation page are encrypted so it cannot be intercepted over the internet by anyone else.

Buy-A-Brick

We reserve the right to refuse and refund any donations made as a part of this campaign where a "named" brick may be deemed inappropriate or offensive. We also reserve the right to refuse and refund donations where it may contradict our Fundraising Policy. The buy-a-brick campaign forms part of the wider Take Care Appeal. Should donations raised amount to more than is needed for the capital element of the appeal the surplus will be put towards the wider Take Care Appeal to help fund the service delivery and move involved with the new Calman Cancer Support Centre.

Tranquillity Trail

Although Cancer Support Scotland encourages people to stay active, participation of the tranquillity trail is done at your own risk. Please consult your doctor should you have any concerns. Cancer Support Scotland accept no responsibility for accidents occurred on the route, nor does it accept any liability for mistakes made in the printing of the tranquillity leaflet, although every effort has been made to ensure it is accurate at the time of going to print.  Due to the nature of the walk some of it takes place on non-tarmacked paths, it is suggested a strong shoe is worn and you are careful not to slip.  Please note these paths may not be cleared of ice and snow during the winter months.

We encourage linking to our site from other websites, although we do not accept any responsibility for the accuracy or quality of the information external to the Cancer Support Scotland website.  In terms of reciprocal linking by Cancer Support Scotland to other websites, we only link to recognised registered charities or relevant partners. We do not endorse any commercial organisations.

Logo Usage

In order to use our logo for your own purposes you must first gain permission from a member of the Cancer Support Scotland Team (this cannot be just a phone/face-to-face conversation and must be accompanied by a letter/email).

The full logo must always be used along with our Charity Registration number SC012867.

If our logo is used for purposed not discussed or agreed to, we have the right to request that you remove it from your materials.
