Wellbeing Assistants

We have an exciting new service launching – directly helping people affected by cancer to access the wellbeing support they need at the correct time. If you have a half day per week or fortnight to spare and would like to help make a real difference to the lives of people affected by cancer, we would like to hear from you.

As a Wellbeing Assistant you will inform people of all the wellbeing services available to them and help identify which may be most beneficial. You will also have the opportunity to meet new people, be part of a growing team, learn new skills and gain valuable working experience. In return we are looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, and friendly.

Fundraising

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our fundraising team. We rely heavily on fundraising to be able to continue offering our services to people affected by cancer and volunteers are vital in helping us to raise these crucial funds and spread the word far and wide about what we do. If you have a just a couple of hours to spare a month you could help us by:

Placing collecting cans in your local area,
Helping at a fundraising collection, information stall, or fundraising event,
Representing us by delivering talks to local groups,
Encouraging small businesses and community groups in your local area to fundraise, or
Raising awareness by distributing posters or sharing our social media posts.

Reception

Our Calman Centre is open on Saturdays, offering one to one counselling for people affected by cancer. That’s why we are looking for someone to help assist the running of this Saturday service by helping our Service and Operations Administrator manage the front reception desk. This is a varied and busy role with great opportunities to meet new people and develop valuable office experience.

If you have a couple of hours to give, on a Saturday, between the hours of 9am-3pm and interested in supporting the wellbeing of anyone affected by cancer, we would love to hear from you. For more full information on the role click here.

Counsellors

We’re always looking for volunteer counsellors who are able to give up 3 hours per week to see people who have been affected by cancer, including families and carers. If you’re a qualified counsellor, a counsellor working towards their accreditation or a student counsellor with a minimum of 100 hours of face-to-face counselling experience please get in touch. We pay for 1.5 hours of external supervision per month. This role is available in the following locations:

Complementary Therapists

We are looking for volunteer complementary therapists to work in our Outreach Centres. Due to the nature of our clients we require volunteer complementary therapists to have a minimum of HNC in Complementary Therapy or three complementary therapy qualifications.

We pay £5 every week for laundry expenses, pay for insurance and equipment and reimburse all travel costs. This role is available in the following locations:

Campbelton Library
Johnstone Library
