Our next big challenge event is our “Moscow to Houston” bike ride, which is taking place on Sunday 24th August 2014.
The starting point is in Moscow, Ayrshire, and the finish line is in the Fox & the Hounds pub in Houston, Renfrewshire (see what we did there?).
The event is open to riders of all abilities, so if you feel up to the challenge please sign up! Our very own Chief Executive, Colin Graham, is even taking part!
When you sign up you will be provided with an information pack, giving you fundraising ideas and help on how to prepare. You will also receive a Cancer Support Scotland t-shirt and a rider number.
On the day we will have trained first aiders as well as volunteers to help cheer you on.
We advise all riders to get their bikes checked before the event
The cycle is approximately 36 miles and the route, which goes via The Calman Centre, can be seen below. Although the cycle is mostly on cycle paths and lanes there will be some riding on roads.
It is set to be a fantastic day out, with all riders being awarded with a well-earned burger and a pint when they reach the finish line! This is a brilliant challenge to get involved in for anyone who likes the idea of doing a marathon, but without all that running!
This is the first year that we are running this event so it is limited to 50 participants on a first come, first serve basis and we are looking for participants to raise at least £150. If you raise £250 then you will be entered into a draw for a fantastic mystery prize
